Next year plans.

Except from being lay rescuer and protecting myself from tragic events. There were very good news. I decided to work on Haptic Affect LOop (HALO) project with Gordon under supervision of Karon Maclean and Joanna Mcgrenere. I'm now a member of SPIN lab and  I'm so exited to work and develop my ideas and definitely publish in conferences. Now looking back to just one year, there are major shifts in my interests and what I do.

I'm again get ahead of myself and decided to go aboard for volunteering after the day I graduate from UBC. There is Volunteer Abroad program, which you can chose to volunteer in many poor countries Ecuador, Peru, Nepal or Ghana. I think I'm going to go to Ghana :). I need to read and learn more about Ghana of course and volunteering is a important commitment independent of how you decide to help. There are wide range of possibilities construction, teaching, caring..  I hopefully assume to be there for two months October and February 2011. If you like visit: volunteerabroad.ca

Did I mentioned that there is great opportunity for working at a farm at UBCFarm ? You can also volunteer at UBC farm during the summer for lots of jobs from beekeeping to chicken nest cleaning and of course basic farming. Its going to be an awesome experience.

Trajik

Ioanna Kucuradi'nin Sanata Felsefeyle Bakmak kitabini okumaya basladim, henuz bitirmedim ama ilk kisimlarinda Max Scheler'in trajediyi tanimini guzel orneklerle anlatiyor. Bir olayin trajik olmasi icin gerekenleri, neyin trajik neyin trajik olamayacagini anlatiyor. "Trajik, belli bir durumda iki yuksek değerin yanyana gerçekleşmesinde, birinin gerçekleşmesi için diğerinin yokolması gerekliliği ve kaçınılmazlığıdır. " diyor. Ayni zamanda trajigin zorunlu ve ozgur olmasindan da bahsediyor, ve trajik olayin sonucu olarak olusan sucun nasil bir suclusunun olmadigindan. Cok enterasan bir kitap, ilerleyen kisimlainda sanatla kurulacak baglantilari okumak icin sabirsizlaniyorum.

Wreck beach'e gunesli bir ogleden sonrami degerlendirmek icin gitmistim ve yanimda bu kitabi da goturdum. Sezonu acmaya wreck de acmaya baslamis, saticilar ciplaklar boy gostermis :).

Trajik konumuzla bağlantılı olarak bugun CPR eğitimi aldım, seneye yapacağım görevim için sahip olmam gereken 2 senelik bir sertifika. CPR'in acilimi Cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Nefes almayan, baygin, vey kabli durmus birini saglik gorevlileri gelene kadar, hayatta tutmak icin gerekli olan temel uygulama. Bu egitimi alan kisilere lay rescuer diyorlar. Hic kullanmak gerekmesin ama egitim sirasinda bu isin ne kadar zor olabilecegini bir an canlandirinca bile irkildim. Onumde yatan plastik vucudun bir yakininiz oldugunu dusunmeyi kimseye tavsiye etmiyorum :P.

metamorphosis

There are simultaneous changes in my life happening, which are effecting me deeply. Decisions, news, realizations. They are slowly changing my reality and my personality. Similar to early arrival of this spring. Magnolia trees transformed into pure beauty and adorable purple, pinkish colour after all.

Philip Glass is coming to Chan Centre on april 5th which I have discovered by reading straight magazine. I'm so ashamed that I didn't know anything about him before. The song below made me to have goosebumps with my eyes closed. I desperately wanted to learn songs of him. It was such a pleasure to me that it was coming somewhere deep below ocean or the deepest dark places on the earth. Listening it was like witnessing the rise of the sun for the first time. I'm very exited to listen him live.

Apart from music, there are something which I'm also very exited! I accepted to become an residence advisor for marine drive. I wasn't really expecting to be accepted but I guess there is more than meets the eye. There are going to be training orientations during the august and I will move into a single unit around that time. I hope I will be as friendly and helpful as by advisors this year.
